Sunday's
Gospel
The Gospel can sometimes be complex and appear
to have many meanings. It’s possible to misunderstand
scripture and even take it out of context. One powerful way
that God helps us to understand the Gospel is through the
homilies preached at Sunday Mass.
If you would like to know more about the
meaning of the Sunday Gospels, you are warmly invited to come
and listen at your local church each Sunday. Please come and
join us to be spiritually refreshed and experience the presence
of Jesus in a powerful way.
A further way to know more about the Gospel
is through praying with the weekly parish version of The Wednesday
Word which is based on the Benedictine prayer custom of Lectio
Divina – a powerful way to pray with and be enlightened
through scripture.
Each week, Dom Henry Wansbrough provides a reflection on
the Gospel (and also the first and second readings) to help
you understand more of its meaning. To access this scripture
and prayer resource please see the menu tab entitled ‘Lectio
Divina with Father Henry’ or click here
